Dear Diary,

What a crazy week! The Charlotte weather impacted my week at Socrates Academy, but there were still lots of moments to be proud of!

On Monday, the teachers had a professional development day. All teachers learned about some new policies at the school and curriculum was discussed in grade levels. The counseling intern was also able to meet with each team, but we had to cut the schedule short because the weather was going to make it unsafe for teachers to drive home later.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, Socrates had no school for snow days, so Miss Priganc and I stayed home to get some work done. She was able to work through several projects that she had not had time to do and caught up on some professional reading. She has a really long book list and I am not sure she will ever get finished! She is always adding new books to the list!

Thursday and Friday were two hour delays which made the schedule a little wonky, but it was nice to have the students back in session. Miss Priganc and I had a few teacher observations to attend and I enjoyed getting to visit classrooms. We also had a planning meeting for the 8th grade trip to Washington D.C. The students are going to have so much fun and I can’t wait to travel with them.

I hope that the weather starts to return to normal next week. This crazy schedule makes it hard to stay on top of my job as Owl in Residence!
