PFI Meetings
PFI meetings are held monthly. Check the Event Calendar for details.
To present an item to the PFI Board, submit a written agenda request to SocratesPFI@gmail.com by the Sunday prior to the meeting.
The Socrates Academy Parent-Faculty Involvement Association or PFI is organized exclusively for charitable, scientific, literary or educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or corresponding Section of any future Tax Code (hereinafter “Internal Revenue Code”)
Staff Appreciation
PFI plans monthly events to show our teachers and staff how much we appreciate them! We also have parents who keeps the lounges stocked with snacks, write birthday cards, and help out on campus.

Store Programs
Socrates Academy receives funding from many stores... all you have to do is link your account to our school and shop! Current partners include: Harris Teeter, Publix, Lands End and AmazonSmile.
We also earn when you download the Shoparoo app and scan your receipts.

Homeroom Parents
Teachers work hard, and our Homeroom Parent program ensures all Socrates Academy teachers get the support they need. HRPs communicate with families on events happening in the classroom, or for items needed for a class project.
K-5 HRPs also coordinate the Winter Party and End of Year Celebration.
Every homeroom needs 1-2 parents committed to helping their child's classroom each year. If you'd like to help, Contact Us.
On-Campus Events
Our campus calendar is packed with activities for students and families, both during the school days and on select evenings. Be sure to check out the Event Calendar and the Connection for details on upcoming events and info volunteering.
Book Fair
PFI sponsors two book fairs each year. These much-anticipated events are an opportunity for students to shop for books and trinkets during the school day, and our school earns money with every purchase.

Proceeds from Book Fair are redeemed in "Scholastic Dollars". We allot every grade level with funds to purchase books for classrooms, and PFI also purchases the scholastic magazines used in class throughout the school year.
School Pictures
PFI manages all school pictures. This includes Fall Portraits, Class Pictures, and Spring Photos. We also collect candid photos for use in the yearbook. Every photo package you purchase from our vendors earns our school money... plus you receive photos of your child!
Spirit Nights
Socrates Academy sponsors Spirit Nights the 1st Tuesday of every month at the Waverly Chick-fil-a. Beginning this school year, every grade sponsors a month! That means every dollar earned from CFA Spirit Night directly benefits your teachers and students! Your child's teacher will notify you of your grade's month.

You MUST use the CFA App for our school to receive credit. Valid for dine-in, drive-thru and delivery.
Campus Beautification
Volunteers beautify our campus inside and out! Our Indoor Beautification team hangs seasonal decor in the lobby and wreaths on doors. We always need crafty parents to help make & hang decor.
Workdays are scheduled throughout the year to keep our buildings and landscaping in tip-top shape! Families with a green thumb may also adopt-a-spot on campus and plant flowers, pull weeds, etc to keep our grounds looking nice.

Fundraising
All activities provided for staff, students and families are made possible by donations from families and participation in our fundraising activities. Our largest fundraisers are School Supplies, Matthews Alive Festival, Campus Collections, Store Programs, and School Pictures. By contributing to these activities, PFI is able to give back to our school.
Spirit Wear
Spirit Wear is a favorite for Socrates Academy scholars. Every Friday, students may wear an approved Spirit Shirt. We offer several styles to choose from, plus sweatshirts that may be worn as part of the uniform on any day. You may also purchase water bottles, tumblers, drawstring bags, and more items featuring the Socrates Academy name and logo.
