ELLINOMATHEIA

If prompted, our school code is: 10034

As of January 2025, Socrates Academy has been recognized as an official examination center for the Greek Language Certification exams conducted annually by the Center for the Greek Language.

The Certificate of Attainment in Greek was established by the Greek Ministry of Education in 1998 to address the need for certifying the various levels of proficiency in Greek for an increasing number of individuals who speak or study Greek as a foreign/second language in Greece and abroad. The Center for the Greek Language, the official body responsible for granting Greek Language Certificates, has been conducting these examinations consistently since 1999.

The Centre for the Greek Language and its accredited Examination Center #10034 of Socrates Academy announce the final dates of the Examination for the Certification of Attainment in Modern Greek.

GREEK MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS CENTRE FOR THE GREEK LANGUAGE

Registration Period: From February 1 to March 20, 2025

Oral examinations are conducted immediately after the written ones.

Sample tests can be found on the website of the Center for the Greek Language.

Only candidates who will be at least 8 years old on 31st May 2025 are eligible to participate in the examinations. Candidates who will be over the age of 12 on 31st May 2025 are not eligible to participate in the examination for Level A1 for children 8-12 years old (they can participate in the examination for Level A1 for adolescents/adults instead). Our examinations have no other age limits. However, candidates under the age of 16 are advised not to participate in the examinations for Levels B2, C1 and C2 because answering the exam questions in the papers may require prior knowledge and experiences that young candidates do not have.

Applications can be submitted either online here or via a paper application at the examination center.
